15th May, 2019 In the Heat of the Night (1967) A mystery drama directed by Norman Jewison, it tells the story of Virgil Tibbs (Sidney Poitier), a black policeman from Philadelphia, who becomes involved in the investigation of a murder in a small town in Mississippi. The chief of Police is played by Rod Steiger.
The film won five Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Actor for Rod Steiger.
