Might Be Of Interest: Propeller Club Lunch – RRS Sir David Attenborough

‘Might This Be Of Interest’ is dedicated to items not strictly Club related, but may be of interest to the Membership. If you have any items that ‘Might This Be Of Interest’ please contact Jack Birley.

The below event is not affiliated with the Athenaeum, however, has been organised in conjunction with a Proprietor.

Propeller Club Liverpool lunches have grown a reputation for delivering fascinating maritime speakers, and this time around Captain Simon Mills – the delivery Master of RRS Sir David Attenborough is speaking on the inception, building, launch and delivery of this amazing new vessel. From the Boaty McBoatface furore through to delivering one of the most technologically advanced ships the Mersey has ever seen, Captain Mills will tell us all about the sea trials and tribulations of translating the hopes, dreams and desires of our polar ambitions into red steel and thousands of kilometres of cable.

The lunch also sees the passing of the baton, as Propeller Club President Steven Jones – who many of you may know – ends his two years at the helm. This is an event not to be missed, and Propeller Club has invited Athenaeum Proprietors to join them at the Racquet Club on Friday, April 5th at their special member’s rate.
