A President, Vice-President and Deputy Vice-President, are elected at the Athenaeum’s Annual General Meeting.
The role of any President involves the arrangement of events throughout his or her year of office, representing the Athenaeum at specific civic and social events, and generally overseeing the Club’s many activities. Coming, as they do, from a variety of backgrounds and experience, each President usually introduces something new into the programme of events.
The Nature of the Club itself is one of decency and respect, qualities which are supported and maintained by practices which have steadily evolved over the centuries that the Club has been in existence.
It is perhaps not surprising that the Athenaeum has come to be regarded by many as… “A haven in the heart of Liverpool”
The Athenaeum is really the sum of its parts. The support of all involved in many different ways is vital and greatly appreciated. With many proprietors having wide ranges of interests and experience preparing an annual program is both challenging and rewarding. I hope that by the end of the year my own experience in many different areas will have widened.
