This enlightening evening will cover the experiences of those on the front line\, including the police and charities involved with support and recovery. Louise will share powerful and moving testimony from survivors\, revealing the individual stories behind the headlines. In particular\, she will chart one young woman’s terrifying and ultimately inspiring journey to freedom and independence. There will be an opportunity to ask Louise questions\, and to discuss how everyone can play their part in making a difference. \nLouise Hulland is a Sony Award winning journalist\, TV & radio presenter and documentary maker. She has been investigating the plight of victims of modern slavery and human trafficking since 2010 and has reported widely on the subject in print and on radio and TV. Louise has more than a decade of experience in news\, current affairs and documentaries. As a reporter and news producer for the BBC and ITN\, she has worked on some of the biggest stories of the last decade. \nLouise’s book\, “Stolen Lives”\, will be available for purchase and signing at the event. \nThe Athenaeum’s Dining Room is taking pre-bookings for dinner following the talk.
