General Enquiries, including access to the Library
If you believe our Library may be able to help you with your enquiry, please email library@theathenaeum.org.uk with the full details of your request and a Librarian will endeavour to respond to you within 10 working days. Please be aware that whilst an initial electronic consultation is free, access to information the library holds, or access to the library itself may incur a fee, decided on a case by case basis.
You can access our library catalogue online via http://athena.cirqahosting.com and our archive via http://archives.theathenaeum.org.uk/calmview. Searching these prior to contacting the Librarian’s may speed up your query.
Athenaeum Library: Reader’s Pass
The Athenaeum is delighted to launch its new ‘Reader’s Pass’ initiative, to aid post-graduates in their research.
With the support of a letter of recommendation from their Director of Studies, post graduate researchers can apply for a Reader’s Pass, which can be purchased quarterly or annually depending on their needs.
A Reader’s Pass grants access to the Athenaeum’s Library during its normal working hours (1pm-4pm, Tuesday through Thursday). There may be opportunities for usage to be made available outside these hours, but this would be reviewed on an individual basis. Readers would be able to use the Club’s catering facilities during their visits.
Post-Graduate researchers can subscribe to a Reader’s Pass Annually (£120.00) or quarterly (£30.00).
You can apply for a Reader’s Pass now using the below form, or by emailing library@theathenaeum.org.uk and including the information requested below.
(It is important you provide as much detail as it will help our Librarian’s establish what resources we have which may be of use to you)
Once received our Librarian’s will contact you within ten working days to discuss with you what information is available, and if necessary invite you in to the Library for a consultation (there is no charge for this). If you have any questions regarding the Reader’s Pass initiative, again please direct them towards library@theathenaeum.org.uk.
A Reader’s Pass will only be issued upon the receipt of a valid letter of recommendation from your Director of Studies for the period applied for and will commence from the day the Reader’s fee is settled. All Reader’s must abide by the Athenaeum’s dress code. The Athenaeum reserves the right to cancel your Reader’s Pass at any time.
