The Athenaeum Liverpool, Church Alley
Liverpool, L1 3DD United Kingdom

14th February, 2018 Inherit the Wind, The film is based on the "Monkey Trial" in the South in the 1920s, where a young teacher  was prosecuted for teaching the theory of evolution. Frederick March plays the prosecutor and Spencer Tracey defends the young man. It is an absorbing and intelligent movie on a topic which is still relevant in the USA at least. The surprise in the film is Gene Kelly, who plays a hard-bitten reporter, very unlike his usual roles. If you haven't seen it, the film is highly recommended.
