Tuesday 13^th December, 2015 – “The Wizard of Oz”: Nobody sings “Over the Rainbow” like Judy Garland. Made in 1939, it narrowly lost out to “Gone with the Wind” for best picture. Made in early telecolor, over seventy years later the film is still a delight to adults and children alike. Dorothy from Kansas (Garland) is scooped up by a tornado with her dog Toto and set down in a strange new world. To get home again, she embarks on a journey with three companions to the emerald City of Oz to ask the wizard who rules the City for his help. (And for those who have read “Wicked”, the Witch of the West takes on a different aspect.)
