History Group – Local Government in 17th Century Prescot

This is a reminder that the next meeting of our History Group will take place on Wednesday, July 24th, at 2.30pm (please note the time) when Proprietor Nigel Gilmour will give us a talk on Leet courts – a snapshot of local government in 17C Prescot. Nigel discovered this topic when reading in the Athenaeum Library and gave this talk many years ago to the then History group. He has since revised it. It has interesting links to our recent history.
This talk will be in the Library Reading Room.
