Kitty Wilkinson’s Liverpool Walking Tour

The Athenaeum, a historic and emblematic city centre venue, and ArtsGroupie CIC, a prominent Liverpool arts organisation, have teamed up to provide monthly walking tours and events starting Summer 2022.

Travel back to Victorian Liverpool and discover key locations inhabited by local heroine Catherine “Kitty” Wilkinson.

Liverpudlian legend, Kitty, was an Irish immigrant who lived in the city’s slums; she overcame all adversity to become a pioneer of hygiene and ran the country’s first public washhouse and baths.

Starting at St. George’s Hall, this two-hour will take you around the city, ending with afternoon tea at The Athenaeum.
