12^th September, 2018: Foreign Correspondent (1940) The season begins with a Hitchcock thriller. Set in August, 1939, just before the outbreak of the Second World War, the editor of the New York Globe sends a crime reporter, John Jones, played by Joe McCrea, to Europe to try to get answers about whether there will be a war. Jones becomes involved in the disappearance a Dutch diplomat, played by Albert Basserman. The cast includes Herbert Marshall, George Sanders and Laraine Day.    (Running time: 120 mins)
