William Roscoe Esquire Walking Tour

£20The Atheneum, a historic and emblematic city centre venue, and ArtsGroupie CIC, a prominent Liverpool arts organisation, have teamed up to provide monthly walking tours and events starting Summer 2022.
This partnership is in lead up to founding an annual William Roscoe Day starting in 2023.
Friday 30th June, 6pm – William Roscoe Esquire Walking Tour
June 30th 2022 at 6pm, ArtsGroupie, and The Atheneum will celebrate the life of Liverpudlian icon and Athenaeum co-founder, William Roscoe, with a heritage walking tour around the city centre on the anniversary of his death.
Roscoe, one of England’s first abolitionists, was a celebrated writer, historian, botanist, lawyer, art collector, and a cultural pioneer of Liverpool.
The two-hour tour begins at The Athenaeum, and ends at the Nelson Monument, Exchange Flags.
Join us in the Newsroom for supper (hearty Lasagne and garlic bread) from 5:00pm ahead of the tour commencing at 6:00pm at The Athenaeum’s gates. The tour is expected to last 2 hours.
