Might Be Of Interest: University of Liverpool Moot Final

‘Might This Be Of Interest’ is dedicated to items not strictly Club related, but may be of interest to the Membership. If you have any items that ‘Might This Be Of Interest’ please contact Jack Birley.

Please find below an invitation from Proprietor, Mr Thomas McLoughlin, to the University of Liverpool Moot Final (this event is not affiliated with the Athenaeum);

As the President of the University of Liverpool Bar Society, I am pleased to extend an invitation to the final of our Internal Mooting Competition due to be held at St. George’s Hall. It is scheduled to be held on the 25th March at St. George’s Hall between 18:00 and 22:00. The competition itself will be from approximately seven (although this is currently subject to change) and there will be a reception with food, drinks, speeches. and prizes afterwards.

Mooting itself is a means by which prospective lawyers can hone their skills through the presentation of legal arguments in a formal environment. For the final, there will be three competitions, between first, second, and third-year students on various areas of law which may include criminal, tort, and contract.

As a proprietor, I would be delighted for guests from the Athenaeum to attend. If possible I hope that you could convey this invitation to members. Should there be any interest I would invite the relevant members to contact me at this email address (tmc6598@gmail.com) so that we can gauge numbers and interest as well as any special access or dietary requirements. I look forward to hearing from you soon and look forward to working with you on this matter.

Yours sincerely,

Thomas McLoughlin

President, University of Liverpool Bar Society
