Athenaeum Film Nights: The Chiltern Hundreds, 1949
November 21 @ 6:30 pm - 10:00 pm
As the nights begin the darken we commence the next series of Athenaeum film nights, showing a classic film each month between October and April.
Guests gather from 6:30pm ahead of a one course supper in the Newsroom at 7:00pm. The screening will begin at 8:00pm in the Reading Room with sweets served at the interval.
This month’s showing is: The Chiltern Hundreds, 1949
A delightful satire on political campaigning, this comedy revolves around Viscount Pym, who resolves to run for office as a Conservative MP to keep up the family tradition – in reality, he’s using it all as a ploy to marry his American sweetheart before she goes back to America. The perfect plan – until it isn’t.
Book your place now via the Concierge or through the Members’ Area.
