On Sunday 10 May the government confirmed the current lock down measures will be extended and have begun to announce a phased return to the ‘new normal’. In line with this instruction the Club will remain closed and the Committee will assess the possibility of reopening following each Government review. Reports currently suggest hospitality businesses will begin to reopen in or around July, but it is too early at this stage to announce a firm date when the Clubhouse will reopen.
The next lock down review is scheduled to take place by Friday 29 May, and the Athenaeum’s Committee will meet shortly after this to re-evaluate the situation.
In view of the current uncertainty, the 2020 AGM, originally scheduled for Wednesday 8th July, has been postponed, and will be rearranged to a more appropriate time when the current situation has settled.
Anyone who wishes to contact the club during this period can do so by contacting Jack Birley via email@example.com.
