Fellow proprietors, I have committed to undertake “The Ration Challenge” this year from 13th to 19th June.
During this time I will eat the same rations as a Syrian refugee living in a camp in Jordan.
I am doing this because I feel I am lucky to live a comfortable life here in the UK, I have a fulfilling job that pays the bills and I eat (and drink!) very well.
I’d like to give something back and I’d like to understand the lived experience of refugees a little better.
That said I am quite worried as to whether I will be able to get through this. As you can see from the photo below it’s not a lot!
I will be able to eat
- The contents of your ration pack and 330ml of (self-supplied) vegetable oil
- The additional rice and flour from your ‘coupons’
- Any rewards you’ve earned (e.g. a spice, salt, a vegetable)
- A multi-vitamin (optional)
I’d be very grateful for any sponsorship or support at the challenge page here https://www.rationchallenge.org.uk/alex-lennon
I am also intending to keep a daily diary as I move into this challenge which you might find of interest!
Kind Regards,
Alex J. Lennon
